Danielle Gleason, MSc & PhD in Environmental Science
MEET THE FOUNDER
Danielle is an environmental scientist and bioinformatician working at the intersection of complex biological data, environmental health, and clear scientific communication. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Wilfrid Laurier University, along with an MSc and PhD in Environmental Science from the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research (GLIER) at the University of Windsor. Her research has focused on microbial communities across diverse environmental systems - from oil sands tailings to freshwater sediments and recreational waters - with particular interest in opportunistic pathogens and source tracking.
Her work is grounded in accuracy, transparency, and collaboration. Danielle values clear communication as much as technical precision and is especially passionate about transforming complex data into clear, well-designed visuals that highlight meaningful patterns and support confident decision-making.
DG Bioinformatics was created to remove the barriers between sequencing data and understanding. We support academic, government, industry, and community partners by providing expert analysis, visualization, consulting, and publication support grounded in real-world experience. Clients come seeking clarity and direction - and leave with reliable results, deeper understanding, and the confidence to move their work forward.
